NH police chief hurt in motorcycle crash

WOODSVILLE, N.H. -- New Hampshire State Police say the police chief in Haverhill was hurt when he was struck by a pickup truck as he was riding a motorcycle.

The crash happened on Route 10 in Woodsville on Thursday afternoon. Police say 66-year-old Morton Michelson of Woodsville was traveling north on Route 10 when he made a left turn into the oncoming path of the motorcycle.

Forty-six-year-old Jeffery Williams, who was off-duty at the time, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital. Michelson suffered minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
