Mass. doctor loses license after perjury sentence

Mass. doctor loses license after perjury sentence

BOSTON -- A Massachusetts doctor has lost his medical license after admitting he tried to fake an alibi to avoid a civil judgment in the death of his girlfriend, another doctor.

Timothy Stryker of Winchester was sentenced last month to four years in prison after pleading guilty to charges including suborning perjury. The state registry board revoked his license Wednesday.

Stryker was ordered to pay $15 million to the family of Dr. Linda Goudey in a wrongful death lawsuit over her 1993 slaying. He was never charged criminally in Goudey's death and maintains his innocence.

In the perjury case, prosecutors said Stryker enlisted two men to help him concoct a story about seeing Goudey with another man around the time she was last seen. They said it was an effort to overturn the civil judgment.
