Man indicted for fatally stabbing his aunt
WRENTHAM, Mass. -- A man accused of fatally stabbing his blind aunt at her Plainville home and hiding her body in a closet has been indicted, moving his case to Superior Court.
A Norfolk County grand jury indicted Randall Carpeno, 41, on first-degree murder in the March stabbing death of April Mackie.
Police say Carpeno had moved from Round Rock, Texas, to live with 56-year-old Mackie.
District Attorney William Keating says Mackie's body was found after a Texas friend of Carpeno's alerted police.
Authorities said that Carpeno had previously lived in Massachusetts and was on probation in Texas.
Carpeno's attorney, William Sullivan, said he had yet to see documents from the indictment and couldn't comment.
A Superior Court arraignment has not yet been scheduled. He pleaded not guilty in district court.
