
Shrewsbury students quarantined in China due to swine flu
SHREWSBURY, Mass. -- A Massachusetts high school student has been admitted to a Beijing hospital for a possible case of swine flu while 14 other students and two chaperones have been quarantined in China.
St. John's High School, a Roman Catholic school in Shrewsbury, said in a statement that the hospitalized student is doing well and is expected to be released next week. The school also said that 12 students and a chaperone are quarantined in Shanghai hotel as a precaution, likely until early next week. Two other students and a chaperone are quarantined in a Beijing hotel until Friday.
The school, 35 miles west of Boston and has nearly 1,000 students, did not disclose any names.
Numerous travelers have been quarantined over swine flu concerns in China, including other school groups from California and Maryland.
