Elderly woman crashes into liquor store
NATICK, Mass. -- An elderly female crashed into a liquor store Friday morning.
Jacqueline Sorensen, 83, of Natick, was driving a Ford Mustang convertible when she went into Fannon's Liquor Store at 212 Main Street.
Sorensen was transported to the hospital with injuries. A store employee was also transported to the hospital with a foot injury.
"There was no sign of any breaking that occurred into the parking lot; on the surface of the parking lot there is an acceleration mark on the barriers prior to the window of the store, so it's quite obvious that the vehicle was driven into the store," said Brian Lauzon, of the Natick Police Department.
Fire officials said Sorensen stated she didn't know what happened.
Donna Morris, a friend of the driver, visited her in the hospital.
"She hit the brake, and she doesn't remember hitting the gas," Morris said.
Sorensen's driving record includes two accidents, one in 1986 and another in 1982 and also a citation for failure to use safety.
Her car has been impounded and the Registry of Motor Vehicles has revoked her license indefinitely calling her an immediate threat.
Police said they will be filing a complaint in court on Monday.
This is the eighth accident involving an elderly person that has happened in the last month.
