Teens plead innocent to park slaying
WOBURN, Mass. -- Two teenagers charged with fatally shooting another teen at a state park in Framingham have been ordered held without bail at their Superior Court arraignments.
Prosecutors say 17-year-old Marquise Brown of Marlborough and 18-year-old Yessling Gonzalez of Brooklyn, N.Y. pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in Middlesex Superior Court on Thursday.
Authorities say Gonzalez drove Brown and 17-year-old Tyriffe Lewis of Marlborough to Callahan State Park on June 20, where Brown shot Lewis twice.
Police say the slaying happened the day after Lewis and Brown fought at a party after Brown accused Lewis of stealing marijuana from him.
Defense lawyers argued for keeping a prosecutor's statement about the case off the record.
