Man arrested after an attempted bank robbery in Avon

AVON, Mass. -- A bank robber in Avon made a critical mistake to get himself caught by police.
A man tried to rob the Avon Cooperative Bank, which is right across the street from the police station.
He demanded $50,000 from the teller. The teller said she didn't have that much money, and that he'd have to go to the next window. So, the suspect moved on to the next window.
Meanwhile, another employee called for help. A short time later, seven officers were inside to apprehend the man.
The suspect is now behind bars.
