4-alarm blaze destroys Milton home
MILTON, Mass. -- A four-alarm fire tore through a Milton home Sunday evening.
The fire broke out just after 5 p.m. at the multi-family home at 4 Kahler Avenue.
"I could barely see the house when I got here, and then shortly...momentarily thereafter I realized the entire, what appeared to be the entire first floor was involved in fire" said Deputy Chief John Foley, of the Milton Fire Department.
Everyone was able to get out of the house and no injuries were reported, but four people are now without a home. Two cats are believed to have died in the blaze.
There was concern the fire would spread to neighboring homes.
"Heavy fire blowing from that side of the house, impinging on the dwelling next door," Foley said.
Investigators believe the fire was caused by a candle in a first floor bedroom.
The Red Cross is working to find shelter for the four people displaced by the blaze.
