Arrest made in phone threat at Southern NH University

Arrest made in phone threat at Southern NH University

SALEM, N.H. -- Officials say a New Hampshire man has been arrested on criminal threatening charges after Southern New Hampshire University was locked down following a telephoned threat against a school employee.

Salem Police Lt. Ron Peddle says in a statement 31-year-old Shawn Decoste, of Derry, was arrested by Salem and Derry police Wednesday night, more than three hours after the university had a lockdown of about 60 minutes due to the threat.

Decoste also faces charges of resisting arrest in Derry, and is being held on $25,000 cash bail. He is to be arraigned Thursday.

Peddle said it was not immediately known if Decoste has an attorney.

Officials declined to release details of the threat.
