Police searching for suspect in Manchester hit-and-run

Police searching for suspect in Manchester hit-and-run

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A New Hampshire man struck by a hit-and-run driver is fighting for his life in a Boston hospital.

Manchester Police discovered Rodney LeBlanc, 37, unconscious, lying face down on Maple Street.

LeBlanc, of Manchester, sustained serious, life-threatening injuries as a result of being struck by a car.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene prior to police arrival.

"They just left him there. Just left him there. That's like the wrongest thing anybody could do I believe. To leave somebody there in the middle of the road to die, is wrong, I don't care, come on where's your conscience," said Amy Langley, the victim's girlfriend.

Langley was supposed to meet LeBlanc about a block away from the accident at Mad Bob's saloon the night of October 16.

"His spleen was shattered. His bladder was punctured. His lungs were punctured. His ribs were broken. He broke his neck. He had bruises to the brain and he had a big cut on his head," Langley said.

LeBlanc was in a coma for two weeks. He remains in a critical but stable condition at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

The night of the hit and run there was a game doing on at Gil stadium and police believe someone leaving the game had to have seen something.

Anyone with information about this accident is encouraged to contact the Manchester Police Traffic Division at 603-668-8711, Ext 347.
