Man steals from parked planes at Logan
BOSTON -- A US Airways mechanic is accused of stealing from planes that were sitting overnight at Logan Airport.
This is said to have been happening on a daily basis and some travelers are wondering about their own safety.
"If that can happen, what else could? Like bombs and that sort of thing, it just seems so easy," one woman said.
State police caught him red-handed after one of his shifts.
"I think the average person believes (the airports) are not as safe as they claim to be," another man said. "There are issues. Afterall, it's human beings."
The suspect, Thomas Locke of Plymouth, Mass., is said to have been caught with a bag containing 10 beers, a bottle of wine, paper towels, toilet paper, potato chips and cookies.
Locke was being monitored for a few weeks prior to being caught.
The case at East Boston District Court was heard last week and continued to April. If Locke stays out of trouble, the case will be dismissed.
Apparently Locke received a "last chance" letter from the airline.
Massport, however, will not give him back his badge and he is subsequently being relocated to Philadelphia.
