JFK Library Foundation gets new CEO

JFK Library Foundation gets new CEO

BOSTON -- David McKean, a former chief of staff for Sen. John Kerry, has been named the new chief executive of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.

McKean has most recently been staff director of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington.

The foundation's board announced Tuesday that he will oversee all operations for the nonprofit that provides financial support, staffing, and creative resources for the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

The Hamilton, Mass., native and Harvard University graduate said in a statement that he looks forward inspiring young people across the globe though President Kennedy's examples.

Caroline Kennedy, the president's daughter and president of the foundation, said McKean shares her father's belief that "politics is a noble profession."
