BOSTON (WHDH) -- Boston Mayor Tom Menino says the city is bracing for a major storm.

“We take this very seriously…we just want to make sure we will be ready. We will have enough equipment, have our Public Works Department out there and private contractors that we will bring into the situation,” Mayor Menino said.

The mayor says people should pay attention to the forecast and any warnings issued by the city.

Mayor Menino is also asking people to check on their older neighbors to make sure they are okay.
