New Melrose program aims to help kids play safe

MELROSE, Mass. (WHDH) -- The city of Melrose took things into their own hands to help make sure kids and teens are playing safe.

Mayor Rob Dolan launched a program called “New Year, New Direction".

Families who drop off violent video games, movies and toys at City Hall will get coupons geared toward the interests of children and teenagers.
