It was nice to see some sun today, but the dry weather is quick to slide out as rain showers work in this evening. For the most part, it will be an all rain event, however, there may be just enough cold air north of route 2 in Worcester County and in SW New Hampshire, that this storm starts as a brief mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Accumulations there would be under an inch, but a few slick spots are possible after midnight, into the pre-dawn hours. For the rest of us... it's plain ole' rain. Rain will be steady after midnight and continue to be heavy at times until about 7AM tomorrow. The heaviest rain early tomorrow morning will be across the MA/NH border.
After the early morning steady rain, we'll get some dry stretches between scattered showers through the rest of the day and into the evening. Temps jump up to near 60 for many in the Boston area, points south and rise into the 50s north of the city. Although, they'll hold in the 40s across southern NH, where the warm front has a tough time getting through.
Heading to the Pats game? Early tailgating weather is in the low 60s, and holding at least into the upper 50s through the game. Dry stretches are possible during the tailgate and game time festivities, but I'd still prepare for scattered showers. Most of the showers won't work through until midnight and there after as the actually cold front heads in.
Cooler and drier weather rules the rest of the week.

Heat and a bit of humidity fed a strong - and sometimes severe - line of thunderstorms today. By the time the dinner hour rolled around (6pm-ish), the storms had consolidated into a line. Everyone got a drink of water and a big drop in temperatures - some falling nearly 20 degrees in minutes!

Well, we had a lot of clouds this afternoon, but at least not a lot of rain. Sure a few showers were out there, scattered about, but hopefully they didn't ruin any plans you had with dad. Temps made it into the mid to upper 70s, which is close to the average for this time of year. In fact, the whole 7-day forecast is within 5 degrees of average each and every day. That means lots of upper 70s and lower 80s on the board. Not bad being average this time of year, huh?

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there, and to my dad as well. So what's on tap for the day? Golf, grilling, just hanging out? Whatever it is, all and all, it's still a pretty good day for dad weather-wise. I wish I could say the Father's Day forecast exactly repeats Saturday, but we do have a few late afternoon showers to track.

After 8" of rain in the last two weeks, we needed/deserved this one! What a day with temps just shy of 80 degrees, low humidity, plenty of sunshine and a refreshing breeze. We'll trade those sunny skies in for mainly clear skies tonight as temperatures fall to near 60 in Boston, but in the upper 40s and lower 50s in the suburbs.
