Did yesterday's big snowstorm out in Worcester county have you feeling a little empty? Want to get into the action? Maybe get your fair share of white?
Fine, we'll oblige.
The next storm up isn't like yesterdays. Not a nor'easter, not a 2-3" rain maker either. Instead, we have light snow event that becomes a little fiesty tomorrow evening across Southeast Mass. At play: cold air (just enough for snow, but not enough for a huge fluffy-factor), a storm track just south of Long Island, the Vineyard and Nantucket and a coastal front.
A coastal what?
A coastal front. A boundary between near 40 on Cape Cod and the 20s in Worcester. That is an added feature that will juice up the storm and essentially make it snow harder between 8pm and midnight.
So, without further bandwith...here's the timeline:
Startup 11am-1pm. As snow for most, but rain Taunton, New Bedford, Middleboro, Cape Cod.
Rain turns to snow in above mentioned areas, but stays as rain east of Rt. 3 (Plymouth to Scituate-like).
Snow becomes heavy south of Brockton, Foxboro and all way to Canal by 8pm to midnight. Light snow elsewhere.
Change to snow late on Cape Cod, then exits after midnight.
Done.
Cold to follow for Pats game. Keep it real....

With the snap of the fingers we were thrown into summer this afternoon. Heat, humidity, A/C and shorts - with a hazy sun to boot. But with the sea breeze knocking back the temperatures (and bringing in a round of downpours this evening), there are changes afoot.

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east. Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity. It'll also be unsettled at times.
Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds. As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening. Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers. These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70. Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.
