Had a lot of clouds around today, but not a lot of any other weather:
Winds were light/calm.
Temps were still above normal, but cool.
And there wasn't any precipitation.
But that's about to change. A weak weather system will ripple through tomorrow, shooting some snow and rain our way. Not seeing this as a blockbuster, but it only takes a lil' bit of snow to make things slippery.
Startup time is before most of us are awake: 3-5am. Snowflakes for many, but in the city, we'll be a mix of snow and rain. Roads will mostly be wet since our temperatures will be right around freezing, but there still may be some secondary roads with some snow on them, so easy does it. In terms of snow accumulation, we'll make our hay through the wee hours and either side of dawn (these days around 7:11). After that, the milder air will funnel into the storm and the rain/snow line will migrate out of Greater Boston and move through Metrowest and toward the Merrimack Valley.
All the while, the pace of the storm will be light. That's why I'm not freakish about the snowfall amounts:

Not seeing a flash freeze tomorrow night either, so you'll have some time to move it around. Most of the precipitation will wind down through the course of the afternoon as temperatures hold in the upper 30s to near 40.
Cold can hardly wait to come to New England...but its stay seems a little short. An arctic front will sweep through on Thursday dropping the numbers Thursday night and Friday, but we'll bounce back over the weekend...just in time for the Pats game.
And speaking of which, it's never too early....
Goooooo PATS!!!!!

What a day! Breakneck temperature swings, thunder, tornadoes in Western Mass....and we're still in late May!

With the snap of the fingers we were thrown into summer this afternoon. Heat, humidity, A/C and shorts - with a hazy sun to boot. But with the sea breeze knocking back the temperatures (and bringing in a round of downpours this evening), there are changes afoot.

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east. Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity. It'll also be unsettled at times.

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds. As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening. Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers. These showers are brought to us by a warm front.
