Everybody Just Calm Down

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

I think wind is really the enemy this time of year and that was never more true than yesterday. Wind chills spent much of the day below zero because winds were gusting between 20-30 mph. Today, that wind is a little fiesty (nor sure why, it is Friday) for a few hours this morning but as we step into the afternoon there won't be much wind out there----in fact, winds will be.....calm.  Also, the core of the bitter air is now leaving and by afternoon our temperatures will reach the lower 20s. Lower 20s & little wind will go a long way to making it more tolerable when outside. We will also see some clouds take over the sky as the day grows longer.

These clouds I blog about are tied to a tiny storm that will zip south of New England later today & tonight. It's too far away to mess up date night but it will create some flurries & even patchy light snow from 9pm until 3am (Haha---that's some date if you're still on the roads at 3am!) . You folks on the cape/islands will see some steadier snow tonight and because of this plan on 1-2" of snow by early Saturday morning. The rest of Saturday (and the weekend for that matter) offer a mix of sun & clouds with seasonably cold temps--afternoon highs each day in the mid & upper 20s. Some wind is around each day to make it feel a bit colder.

Looking into next week, our weather stops coming from Yellowknife,Canada and instead Seattle, Washington....translation: warmer weather. We will go through some weather swapping out our climates. Clouds & patchy light snow are likely on Monday afternoon, while rain showers will be with us on Tuesday.

Have a great weekend!

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Posted by Chris Lambert

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70.  Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Posted by Chris Lambert

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.
