Snowbanks & Puddles

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

No new snow, sleet or eve rain today. Yay. The next two days offer some quiet weather as well as mild weather with temps today and again on Wednesday reaching the low & mid 40s. Shrinking snowbanks & growing puddles. The only knock on today is that dang wind as many towns will have gusty conditions for much of the day, robbing that warm feel to the air. All in all, decent winter day in store. Tomorrow is similar but less wind.

We have another storm heading up the east coast late Wednesday night & early Thursday morning. It will not be a blizzard and if you live north of the MA Pike you can actually skip ahead a paragraph. The storm will scoot south of New England making its closest pass in the early morning hours of Thursday. Snow will fall lightly from metro Boston out toward Worcester (as well as points south) very early Thursday morning. The snow will be a little steadier toward Buzzards Bay-Cape-Islands for the storm. It's also a quick moving storm so look for the last flakes to fly by 9am Thursday morning. In terms of accumulations, coating-2" along & south of MA Pike and 2-4" toward the canal with a little more likely out on Cape Cod. The *special* map in our maps section has greater detail.

Quiet weather resumes from midday Thursday into the start of the weekend. There is a renewed risk of another snowstorm late in the weekend. As of now the storm looks to stay just offshore to bother us but the storm will form, it's just a matter of just how close to the coast. We'll have a much better handle on that by Thursday.

Ciao for now

Summ-ah!

With the snap of the fingers we were thrown into summer this afternoon. Heat, humidity, A/C and shorts - with a hazy sun to boot. But with the sea breeze knocking back the temperatures (and bringing in a round of downpours this evening), there are changes afoot.

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Posted by Chris Lambert

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.
