Consistent

Posted by Chris Lambert

In like a lion, out like a lamb.  That's the March motto.  However, it looks like we'll start off the first several days of the month on the quiet side (lamb-like).  In fact, temperatures are very consistent, hovering in the lower 40s each afternoon.

There will be a stubborn area of low pressure in the upper-levels of the atmosphere across New England and it'll be slow to move out of New England.  With that said, it's been an area of low pressure that's been losing steam.  It'll be enough to keep more clouds than sun, and an occasional rain or snow shower around Friday and Saturday, but many dry hours are also included each day.  Sunday looks dry with partly sunny skies.

Bottom line, no major storms through the weekend.  Finally!   Great ski weather too!  Low to mid 30s in Ski Country with an occasional snow shower.  Remember, the last two rain storms here have been all snow up there.

Next week, Monday and Tuesday feature a north wind that goes northeast.  That'll keep some low to mid level moisture in place, enough for mostly cloudy skies, but mainly rain/snow free skies.  Wednesday, northeast winds increase, and a rain or snow shower can't be ruled out.  Overall, it'll be a raw and windy day.

The wind on Wednesday is generated by the pressure difference of a high to our northeast and an ocean storm to our south.  Right now, that big ocean storm looks to stay out to sea, and our quiet weather should continue into the end of the week.

What a day! Breakneck temperature swings, thunder, tornadoes in Western Mass....and we're still in late May!

Summ-ah!

Posted by Pete Bouchard

With the snap of the fingers we were thrown into summer this afternoon. Heat, humidity, A/C and shorts - with a hazy sun to boot. But with the sea breeze knocking back the temperatures (and bringing in a round of downpours this evening), there are changes afoot.

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Posted by Chris Lambert

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.
