Copy & Paste

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

That phrase about the weather (Wait 5 minutes yada yada) won't work---and hasn't been since yesterday morning. In fact, I'm tempted to go into my blog yesterday and do the ol copy/paste for today's blog as there really isn't' anything new to blog about. We still have that same storm pinwheeling about the northeast with bags of clouds/sprinkles/flurries right now! Like yesterday, every so often we run the risk of seeing a few sprinkles and or flurries right through the upcoming weekend. Sunday morning might even have a burst of some patchy light snow (coating in spots). Otherwise, it's a decent weekend for travel, skiing, sledding or getting caught up on chores around the yard.

As we look into next week, the pattern remains quiet to start but there are signs of another powerful coastal storm passing close to New England during the Wednesday-Thursday timeframe. Nothing locked in just yet but don't take the plow off the truck or put away the snow blowers just yet.

Some good news before we part ways for the weekend, in February we picked up 71 minutes of daylight.....for the month of March we continue to brighten things up adding 86 more minutes of daylight this month! Ready for spring.

Have a great weekend!

Can Only Go Up From Here

Rain and drizzle continues tonight as temperatures drop into the mid 30s to 40 degrees.  Any burst of heavier precip drags down colder air, and elevations above 1000 feet in northern Worcester County  or southwester NH see wet snow mixing in overnight.  No shovels or plows needed for us, but it is a sure sign how cold the atmosphere is for late May.  As of this writing, Mt. Mansfield in VT has picked up 7.5" of snow and Whiteface Mtn. in NY has picked up 18"!

This Is How It Starts? Really?

Posted by Chris Lambert

So it's the unofficial start of summer this weekend and officially, the average high this time of year hits 70 degrees.  So you'd think we have a good shot at BBQ weather right?  Not much of a chance today with highs reaching near 50 this morning, only to fall back into the low to mid 40s this afternoon as a cold rain settles in.

Take the Good, Take the Bad

Rain, rain, rain...

...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.

Come On Ride The Train

Posted by Pete Bouchard

Heavy rain is on the move! All afternoon long it was stalled over Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Heavy pulses of rain traveled over the same towns and cities - a process meteorologists call "training" - resulting in flash flooding in some counties to our west.
