Cooling Off

A few days of 50+ degree weather and it's incredible to see how much snow has disappeared.  Leftover snow piles the next few days melt at a much slower pace as temperatures flirt with 40 degrees during the day and back below freezing at night.

While we won't have much sun throughout the day, we won't have much falling from the sky either.  An occasional sprinkle or flurry drops from the clouds today, but the overall theme is colder and windier.  The depths of the colder air filters in tonight, with temperatures falling into the teens in the burbs, lower 20s in the city.

We'll remain with more dry hours than wet/white through the weekend.  On Saturday, we track a weak clipper system just to our south, but this one doesn't have much moisture with it, and the trend has been weaker and farther south.  Bottom line, don't expect much out of it.  A couple of flurries/wet snow showers, that is all.

Luck of the Irish on Sunday as St. Patricks Day turns out with more sun than clouds.  We could do better temp-wise though with highs only near 40.

So what about the next "big" storm?  This one arrives Monday night and last through Tuesday.  As the track takes it over land, it'll drag in warmer air, meaning any snow/ice/mix turns to rain by Tuesday morning.  I could see a few inches of accumulation in the higher terrain outside 495, but even there, it should change to rain.  Mostly wet and not white is the theme in Boston.  We still have plenty of time to watch it and nail down the track.  Until then, have a good weekend!

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.

Strong Finish

An overall cooler day, but also a great end to the workweek as highs neared 70, low humidity continued and plenty of sunshine dominated the skies.  Now all we need is this to continue through the weekend right?

Still Good

How about yesterday?  The 82 in Boston matched the warmest temp we've had since September 13th.  Of course, with a wind gusting past 30mph and relative humidity near 18%, it certainly didn't feel oppressive. 

Top 10?

Lower 80s, low humidity and sunshine... would you call it a top 10 kind of day?  Only complaint, other than it not being the weekend, is maybe the wind was a bit much?  It certainly was gusty, at times blowing 30-35mph.  No sea breeze will move inland with a strong west wind like that.
